History
Spring Cove Foundation began in 1980 and was renamed Nason Foundation in 1988. On July 1, 2015, Nason Foundation entered a management services agreement with Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation to manage day-to-day operations of Nason Foundation. The Nason Foundation board of directors consists of a good cross section of the community.
Mission
To support the health and vitality of our community through financial support and education.
Purpose
This scholarship has been established by Nason Foundation to provide financial assistance to individuals being educated and trained in the healthcare field and attract them to career opportunities in the region. Specific programs eligible for the scholarship are Physicians, Nursing, Med Tech, Radiology Tech, Physician's Associate and other health related fields.
The Scholarship
The scholarship began in 1989. In 2001, it was renamed the Wayne A. Baker, RN Memorial Scholarship.
Wayne was employed in the emergency room at Nason Hospital for 23 years before losing his life in an
accident on his family farm in 2001.
Nason Foundation will offer scholarships based on the degree being pursued.

Scholarship Awards – May Re-apply – 2 Year Max Award
Annual Award
1. Programs 1 Year or less: $500
2. 2 Year (Associates Degree programs): $1,000
3. 4 Year (Bachelor Degree programs): $2,500
4. Graduate Level: Physician Associate, Nurse Practitioner, PharmD, OT, PT: $6,000
5. Doctorate Level: MD, DO, Optometry, Chiropractic, Dental: $10,000

- 1. Acceptance to the appropriate education/training program. Programs include Physicians,
Nursing, Med Tech, Radiology Tech, Physician's Associate, and other health related fields.
2. Student is in good academic standing with at least a 3.0 GPA.
3. Demonstrates community involvement.
4. Must be from the geographical service area of the Nason Foundation. See attached map
Application Process
- Application may be obtained from the Nason Foundation or downloaded from web site (nasonfoundation.org).
- Completed application and required documentation submitted to either:

- A personal interview may be conducted.
- Final selection will be made by the Nason Foundation Board at their quarterly board meetings.
